My name is Jessica Anthony. I'm a dancer, singer, actor and educator compelled by story and floored by beauty. I have been dancing with the dance theater company, Jane Comfort and Company since 2004. It has been delightful journey of collaborating with and basking in the glow of these talented artists, performers and friends.
Since 2007, I have been an assistant pre-k teacher at The Family Annex facilitating the high art of sharing, taking turns and all things precocious and genuine. I have learned much through the eyes of my four year old friends. I have witnessed and been inspired by the power of story as it motivates a child to create, to risk, and to explore. I have also been schooled in the art of living in the moment and the value of "using your words".
I currently serve on the board of Zocalo, a community arts intiative based in East Harlem. I am also a proud member of Flying Art's Power Team, facilitating the international exchange of art among youth. Recently, I have begun partnering with Yarok Kids bringing dance to a nursery school in East Harlem.
Best of all, I live with my "moving and shaking" husband Chris in Brooklyn. We love to adventure around NYC and beyond climbing, surfing, and skiing. We love the mountains and the wide sky of the midwest, but we are drawn back to NYC every time.
